Indifference in answering rti queries Indifference in answering rti queries

I have made first appeal for my rti queries but they seem to be not serious in answering my queries. They sent me hearing information twice. First time the information reached me after the due date for hearing is over. Again got the due date (8/8/2018)of hearing information letter on 3/8/2018.But according to rti act the information should reach me at least 10 days prior to the due date. Also I had clearly mentioned no hearing required in my appeal. Is it compulsory to personally attend?what next if they fail to give satisfactory answer? Yes ofcourse I can make second appeal. But do they get punished for their indifference in answering queries? Even after second appeal if they don't provide answers to my queries then what next?

A.If you have already appeal before state appellate authority then you have to wait for their order. Yes there is punishment info form of penalty if they making unnecessary delay to provide information under RTI.but if that information might be confidential then they will provide reasons. So make an appeal before state authority.

A.It is mandatory to attend personally for 1st appeal hearing. If u don't appear they may dismiss your 1st appeal application. If u r not satisfied with the order of 1st appellate authority,u may prefer 2nd appeal before state information commission. If any authority failed to provide information, he may be penalized fine Rs.250 per day, maximum up to Rs.25000.So don't avoid to attend hearing
