Filing of case under consumer protection

I booked a flat at mohali (chandigarh) My place of residence is Jammu whether I can file case in consumer forum at Jammu my place of residence for issues regarding INVALID Agreement and insufficiency in service

A.No.you can't file consumer complaint in Jammu. Because your disputes arises in Chandigarh and consumer protection act 1986 doesnt permit you to file consumer complaint in jammu. Because there is seperate jammu and kashmir consumer protection act 1987 enacted for jammu. You should file consumer complaint in chandigadh itself. Dont worry there is no need of lawyer to file complaint. But if you want to go through with lawyer then you can contact with our vidhikarya lawyers for further legal procedure

A.If you want to file civil suit it has to be filed in district court Mohali.But consumer case has to be filed in the forum within whose jurisdiction the office of the builder is or where he has signed the agreement/ office address of the builder shown in booking form.
