Pet elephant killed a citizen.

I have a pet elephant who was being carried by the caretaker(Mahaut).
The elephant was high on hormones and it killed a person in a village.
Please suggest the leagal action which can be taken against us by the victims family.

A.Legal heirs can sue you for criminal action.

A.They can file FIR against you for keeping dangerous animal and negligence and death of the person due to your negligence.
Also if you do not have necessary legal and valid permission for the elephant then there would be additional charges made against you.

A.Under the Law of Tort the relatives of deceased can go to to the court to seek compensation or damages from the owner that is you. And in all likelihood the learned court will pass the judgement in their favour as it is your duty to ensure the safety of the people when you keep a pet of any kind. This can be a case of strict liability and as such you will have to pay the damages to the family.
