M satyam singh, actually bses high voltage electric wires are passing from all over my roof and on every other day there is a short circuit and fire. Wires are inside my house premises. What should I do and what is the legal limit of the roof boundary that can be built? I have already raised the complaint from last few months bt they are ignoring it and saying that u should have not built ur roof boundary/gallery. Please help me with the information that is it illegal to build roof boundary/gallery Bcoz I have read online that till 3ft of roof boundary/gallery is allowed to build.

A.As per rule, no construction is allowed to come up within 15 metres of the wires on both sides. The Indian Electricity Rules specify that there should be 7.3 m vertical clearance and 5.7 m horizontal clearance from live conductor above the highest part of the building or grown tree for a 400 kV tower line and 5.5 m vertical and 3.8 m horizontal clearance for a 220 kV power line. “For contraventions to these stipulations, the Department gives a 15-day window period to pull down the structures, failing which action is taken through the municipal authorities,”

A.The redressal pf your grievance will depend upon the fact that whether you build a house under the existing high tension wires or they got the high tension wires on your already built house. If you built your house under the high tension wires then probably you will not get any solution and in fact you will have to pay the penalty. In case they got the wire on your house then yes you can claim the compensation or get any relief.
