Applicability of Goa Civil Code to me
My father was born in Goa and left Goa as a young lad, in early 1900s. I was born near Mangalore and grew up there. I got a job in Goa and moved there in 1975. I have lived there since and bought a flat in Goa. My father left me a house in our village. I have a son and a daughter. Daughter is married and has a son. My question is: Does the Goa Civil Code apply to me since I have lived most of my life in Goa, and own some property in Goa? Am I free to dispose of my property as I wish or am I bound by the provisions of the Goa Civil Code?
