Wrong side challan issue without any signboard of wrong side Wrong side challan issue without any signboard of wrong side

On 29-May-2023, my family and I were traveling from near to Old Railway station to Manesar through an unfamiliar area (Fountain chowk) by following directions on Googlemap. As newcomers to the location, we were not familiar with the traffic rules and regulations specific to that area. Unfortunately, there were no sign boards indicating that it was a wrong side of the road, nor were there any barricades or police officers present to inform us of the prohibition. After taking a turn, we were stopped by the police on the other side of the road, who informed us that we took a turn on wrong side. We tried to explain them the situation and inform them too that there were no sign boards indicating that it was a wrong side of the road, nor were there any barricades but instead to understand our valid concern and take preventive action to stop further wrong turn from that area. Also, they said it’s not our responsibility to check if sign board is still there or not, we are here to issue the challan if anyone found to break the rule. Instead to understand the root cause of issue, they keep making arguments to proof they are right in issuing a challan even in absence of proper notification, barricades and signboards and to our surprise, they issued a challan of INR 5500 for this violation. They held our RC and no challan is reflecting online.
