Will i be booked in ITPA or PITA if i lend my place to a prostitute for sex work ? Will i be booked in ITPA or PITA if i lend my place to a prostitute for sex work ?

Hello,
I have visited a brothel for sex and made friend with a local prostitute. She told she didn't like the work conditions as the place was dirty, forced to take 10 clients a day. Soon we became friends and exchanged numbers & was surprised to see she lives near me. Now, she called up and said she know some clients whom she can invite and have sex in my apartment while i am away. I want to help this lady by rescuing from that brothel as i felt sad for her. I also cannot get her a job as her education level is only upto school.

Now my doubt is, will i be booked in ITPA or PITA if i lend my apartment to a sex worker as a kind help ? Just to improve her working conditions.

See the total power is with police & judiciary. Only if common people get some power, we the general people can rescue some girls and improve their working conditions, also complain to police in case of mis treatment but we only get ashamed from police for visiting a prostitute. Marriage is not a guarantee to a good sex life.

Please any friendly advocates, need ur opinion.

A.Prostitution however is illegal in India. As much as I value your ideologies and opinions, helping that female will cost you a round trip of prison. It is advisable that you both are friends and you help her out by not letting her indulge into prostitution any further. Lending her your apartment for prostitution is in no way a help to make her life better.

It is advisable that you inform the NGO's who in specific work to rescue females from such sex rackets or also contact people from maybe human rights , complain to the local P.S. and a variety of other alternatives. Allowing her to work for prostitution because she isn't happy at the brothel and work environment is unhealthy is still prostitution,
for any further queries please do contact me through vidhikarya.

I hope this helped

I heard that brothel which i visited was running for more than 6 years, policemen were paid bribes and if i approach police, they dont respond properly. Why cant the supreme court legalize prostitution ? If legalized, the government can itself run safe brothels protecting these women from exploitation, give regular health checkups and also tax it. This would be a good move !

Sir, you can however file a PIL for the same. But in my honest opinion. The supreme court does not do that only because such acts are morally non ethical. Going by the same logic, The SC might as well legalise betting and gambling increasing tax levels on that so that revenue increases instead of just legalising horse racing.

Dear advocate, This issue should be thought emotionally and sympathetically, not by logic. This decision will impact lakhs of women's lives. We must think them as our sisters rather than prostitutes. When developed countries like Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands and many European countries legalized & run government owned brothels, why not India too ? It has been proven once legalized, the sex workers will be in a healthier, safer and secure environment.

Sir, Prostitution is by law illegal in India. Sale of body is illegal. Yes there have been countries which have legalised the concept and are doing well as you have stated. But, Indian laws do not follow that particular logic with regards to prostitution. It is still a crime and will remain so until and unless a law is passed to either decriminalise it or to legalise the concept all together. Your idea to help is a good one but by doing so [in the eyes of law] it is a punishable offence. Your sympathy may land you in big trouble [an uncalled one]. As for legalising this concept. There can be PIL's which may be moved in the HC and have similar contentions like you have already mentioned. But why is it not legalised in India is only because Prostitution in itself is not supported in India and is regarded as an immoral act and sexual abuse of women.

A.Dear client,
If you would allow her to continue illegal trade or business as prostitutions just on helping , you will be in big trouble. Perhaps you are educated , see such thing are even derogatory in society , your sympathy may cost for your character and future. So do not go for it. Pls. Rate , and put review.
Thanks.
