I delivered my pre Ph.D.-submission seminar in April 2017. But my HOD manipulated the Departmental research committee (DRC) minutes and mentioned that I have to defend my synopsis before the DRC again. But there is no such condition in DU (University of Delhi) ordinance. Also my supervisor is satisfied with my research work and is not agree for another pre-submission seminar. Case was put up before the Research council, University of Delhi and they found that HOD is guilty but still no action of any sort is being taken. I am still not being allowed to submit my thesis. What should I do? how much can i be benefited if i raise a legal notice and take help of police...or court case in which category is harassing case?

A. If the HOD has been found to be guilty by the University then they should have acted fast and given you the required outcome. Delhi University being a "State" by definition you can directly move the High Court and ask for what you want from them. My suggestion to you would be reach out to some local Delhi Lawyers and move the petition rather than wasting your time. Remember time is precious.

Sanju Goyal

Posted 7 months ago

Hello Respected Lawyers, I have changed my surname from Sanju Gupta to Sanju Goyal in Dec 2017.For this I Have Done all Process of Gazette Notification. With the Help Of Gazette I am Able to change name in My all Kind of Id Cards Like Voter Id or Pan Etc. But the main problem is Cbse denied my request for their change name rules which is Student have to request for change name before publication of result but i have cleared my 12th in 2014. Same like this Delhi University also denied because they said first change in cbse Cbse suggest me to Tke Order From Court...Need Help what should i do now... Thank You

A. I think there is no need to get the names changed in your educational documents. Wherever you apply with these docs you also give a copy of the gazette notification that your name has been changed and that should not cause any problem as such. Else get an affidavit done and show that to CBSE, if they agree.

one of my relative had taken a loan of rupees 15 lakh in cash for 6 months from me and did an agreement a 10 rupees stamp paper.but he did not return my money since one year.can i take action against him?

A. Hi, See if you have got the agreement done then certainly you can enforce that agreement and recover your money. But the thing is that if you go for a civil case it will take a bit of time. So, my suggestion would be to somehow get a cheque from him and then go for cheque bounce case as in this way you can recover your money faster. You can speak to me if you want a details understanding on this.

Recently I submitted fresh application form instead of reissue of passport by mistake for my son's application. His passport is still valid for another 6 months, this was a merely negligence and mistake with no deliberate intention to suppress any information. While applying online form I had uploaded copy of existing passport along with other documents and same was provided at the PSK when asked by the granting officer. I missed to check the application receipt at counter A & B so same could not be rectified there.. I am asked to pay a fine of rs 5000 and application is kept on hold with future appointment date. Please suggest if this penalty is valid? Can I wait for the file to be closed after 3 months and apply new form mentioning previous file details etc, will this save me with the penalty.

A. This is not a legal question but an administrative question that you should go and ask with PSK officials. Contact them and seek clarification from them. They should be able to tell and guide you properly.

One of my known person took a loan from me without any written documents. When he denied to repay timely I made a audio recording in my mobile where he acknowledged his debt and condition also but unable presently to repay. Can I take the shelter of court for recovery of loan on the basis of audio recording?

A. Audio recordings are not good evidences and they are kind of supportive evidences. You will have tough time for your case on the basis of just the audio clip. The other way for you to get your money back could be to send a legal notice to that person.
