Bajaj finserv loan before pandemic

Hi I have taken 2 mobile phones from Bajaj before pandemic I was unable to pay the emis now someone is calling from sp office and torturering me and my family that if I won't pay in one hour police will arrest me, do police have authority to talk in behalf of Bajaj loans , please help me
A.The bajaj loans cannot go to the SP office & make phone calls to u.... There is NO loan recovery backed up by police.. kindly RECORD all their call & save in email.

The loan defaulter will not go to jail and it is a civil dispute. Police cannot arrest the person for not paying the EMI. In this scenario, the lender can only increase the interest rate or levy additional charges.

Police does not have any role in recovery of the loan unless the action is taken under SARFAESI Act. and it seems that someone is impersonating the police and trying to harass you to pay the loan. If you get the call again then record it and lodge a complain to the police.
