A.Hi client,
As per the new Maternity (Amendment) Bill 2017, the period of leave has been extended to 26 weeks. You need to ensure such leaves from your HR team.
If this maternity period is over, you can file an application along with your medical certificate.
The Maternity (Amendment) Bill 2017 brought a lot of necessary amendments in the Act, there shouldn't be any problem in receiving or extending the leave.

Thanks and Regards
Simi Paul

A.Hello Client,

In India, all women working in factories and establishments with at least 10 workers have access to about 6 months of paid maternity leave.

Now if someone wants an extension then she must show a medical certificate stating the same.

Thanks & Regards

A.Dear Client!

As per the amended maternity benefit Act 2017 A woman is entitled for maternity leave upto 26 weeks.

If you have exhausted the maternity leave, then you need to show the medical certificate which would state that you need bed rest or the baby needs additional care due to medical grounds.

Hope your query is resolved.
