A.Dear Client,
If your stridhan (dowry items) and furniture provided by your father are not being returned to you during the divorce proceedings, you can take the following steps to address this issue:

Consult Your Divorce Lawyer: Discuss the matter with your divorce lawyer or legal counsel who is handling your divorce case. They can provide guidance on how to legally pursue the return of your stridhan and furniture.

Legal Notice: Your lawyer can send a legal notice to your husband or his legal representative requesting the return of your stridhan and furniture. This notice should clearly outline the items and request their return within a specified timeframe.

Request for Inventory: If you have a detailed inventory or list of the stridhan and furniture items that were given to you at the time of marriage, share this list with your lawyer. It can serve as evidence of what was given.

Mediation: In some cases, mediation can be an effective way to resolve disputes over property. Your lawyer can help arrange for mediation with your husband or his legal representative to negotiate the return of your stridhan and furniture.

File a Separate Civil Suit: If negotiations and mediation do not yield results, you may need to file a separate civil suit for the return of your stridhan and furniture. Your lawyer can advise you on the appropriate legal action to take in your specific situation.

Seek Enforcement of Court Orders: If you are granted the right to the return of your stridhan and furniture as part of the divorce decree, and your husband does not comply, you can seek enforcement of the court orders through legal means.

Document Everything: Maintain records of all communication, legal notices, and court orders related to the return of your stridhan and furniture. Documentation can be crucial if you need to pursue legal action.

It's important to follow the legal process and work closely with your lawyer to ensure that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of recovering your stridhan and furniture during the divorce proceedings.
Thank you.
