Father name is wrong in my voterid

There is a spelling mistake in my father's name in my voter id can I do an affidavit to the same so that I can produce during document verification. Is it acceptable in that way.

Form 8 - Application Form is used for shifting of Residence/Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll/Replacement of EPIC. This service can be used by a citizen to request for corrections of details in a Voter ID card. Once the corrections are entered in Form 8, the request is forwarded to the Electoral Registration Office (EFO). You can apply online for correction of your father's name in the Voter Card by filling out the prescribed form - 8 or visiting the concerned Electoral Registration Officer of the constituency in which the name of the applicant is already included.
