A.Dear Client,
A contractual employee of a private school is governed by the state-specific Act and Rules. A contractual employee has the right to be paid public holidays and leaves such as casual leave, sick leave, privilege leave and other leaves at par with the regular employee unless he/she is disentitled by the terms of a contract of employment putting a clause of no work, no pay during the vacation holidays or festival holidays. So, through your appointment letter and if it appears discriminatory in nature, then you can make a grievance before the School Management Committee failing which you may escalate the grievance before the Licensing Authority or District School Inspector for redressal.
