Regarding My father pension grievance against Icici Bank
4 months ago
Dear Sir,
Iam R. Prabakaran, Ex Employee of ICICI Bank retired under VRS during 2015.
I came out of the Bank on the assurance of your HRMG that I would be paid all the benefits of 2003 VRS scheme announced by the Bank. But after my resignation HRMG withdrew its earlier stance and refused to release the following benefits eligible for 2003 VRS optees:
1) Remaining period salary for 3 years
2) Industrial Level pension prevailed during 2015
3) Extention of Medical Insurance scheme to my family upto my age of 70.
.I have sent so many mails to ex MD and CEO Mrs. Chanda Kochar and HRMG chief Mr. Srirang, the corresponences of which are attached herewith for your careful perusal.
I came to know unlike previous MDCEO Mrs.Chanda Kochaar, you consider genuine cases of employees/ex employees upon due reresentation.
I have been paid a pension amount of Rs.18500/-based on on our lowest Basic pay prevailed during 2003 whereas Iam eligible to receive a pension of Rs.45000/-based on the basic pay of 2015, the calculation of which is enclosed herewith as attachment.
Kindly consider whether it is possible to survive a Bank employee with a pension of Rs.18500/- per month after meeting house rent of Rs.10000/- in a city like Chennai.Balance amount available is Rs.8500/- only to meet my family expenses. We are stuggling to lead a decent life.
We are erstwhile Bank of Madura employees.Had we continued in Bank of Madura now we would be drawing a pension of Rs.45000/-. Because of merger with ICICI Bank we are suffering.
Payment of pension is not going to affect your profit and Loss Account but you are paying the pension only from our own pension fund.
Please consider my request favourably and release my eligible industrial level pension as per calculaions attached herewith.
With Warm regards,
R. Prabakaran
When you availed the VRS in 2015 accepting the VRS Scheme of the Bank announced in 2003, you cannot expect the pecuniary benefit of 2015 in the absence of any revision explicitly mentioned in the scheme of 2003 assuring you the benefit available on the current scale of pay of 2015. Moreover, when you availed VRS in 2015, you did not litigate the claim before any court or forum and accordingly, your grievance/claim against the Bank after a gap of eight years in 2023 is now barred by time/limitation. However, you can still raise your claim against the Bank before the Court with a prayer for condonation of delay provided you can satisfy the Court regarding the reason behind the delay. Reach out to an Advocate practicing Tribunal/Labour Court matter for guidance and steps.
