A.Dear Client,
In Karnataka, the criteria for OBC Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) status can vary, and it's essential to refer to the specific guidelines provided by the authorities. Generally, OBC NCL status is determined based on the individual's own income or that of their parents, not considering the spouse's income. However, for accurate information related to UPSC applications and OBC NCL criteria in Karnataka, it's advisable to consult the official guidelines or contact the relevant authorities. Ensure you follow the most up-to-date and accurate information to make an informed decision about whether to submit your parents' income or your own when applying for OBC NCL status for UPSC examinations.
Thankyou

A.Dear Client,
Your OBC certificate depends on the caste you were born in which means the caste of your father. Marriage does not alter your caste or OBC status. Similarly, NCL status is arrived at by the total income of your (both) parents only. Your own income or the income of your siblings or spouse is not considered for this purpose. The caste of a woman is determined by her birth, and the caste of a person follows that of her father and not her husband. A woman whether married or unmarried, she is eligible for OBC NCL category privilege based on her father's status only even though he has expired.
