In Andhrapradesh PSC for food safety officer they have given degree in medicine as a qualification but they given posting to the BDS candidate .Is BDS also comes under degree in medicine? when I failed RTI about it to the FSSAI they given answer that it should come under MCI Act 1956 then they will be eligible to the FSO post.My doubt is BDS comes under MCI act 1956? or either it comes under degree in medicine? Pls clarify my doubt bcoz I want to fail court case but I am not clear by above matter I lost post bcoz of that.

Presently BDS Courses are governed under Dental council of India and not under MCI .
Also BDS degree is NOT recognized as a Medical Course by MCI as of date.
So, technically, Food safety officer post should only be held by MBBS graduates who come under MCI.
You can file a writ and challenge the appointment of BDS graduates as a food safety officer.

A.If you wish challenge then approach the High Court. It is tricky question and only courts can answer your question. Rightly or wrongly they issued a notification. No body's opinion change the notification and it cannot be withdrawn. Please give me Rank 5 if you feel my answer helped you
