I JOINED THE COMPANY AND WORKED FOR 1WEEK COULDNT CONTINUE. HAD A TRAVELLING ISSUE SO I DROPPED THE OFFER I RECEIVED NOTICE TO PAY 1.1LAKH. SHOULD I PAY OR IGNORE

Please go through the terms and conditions of the contract of employment. If the contract specifies that you cannot leave in the middle(gives a specific time period for which you are bound to work), then you leaving the employment is a breach and you will have to pay the fine

A.Dear Client,
On receipt of the offer letter from the Company, you resume on acceptance of contracts of employment and worked for one week. If there is a condition in the offer letter or contract of employment in case the employee tenders resignation without serving the fixed term contract period or without serving a notice period or abandons the job or remains absent without information and permission of the management, the employee has to compensate the Company for damages or financial loss incurred for breach of contract or condition of employment, then Company may show cause you and can take legal action against you for recovery of compensation for damages or financial loss incurred for breach of contract. So try to negotiate the matter amicably with the Company, failing which you may approach the concerned Labour Commissioner for redressal of your grievance.
