Intimation of payments towards puchase of property for government employees
4 months ago
If a central government employee is a co-buyer of a flat along with another family member, it is compulsory to give intimation regarding it to the employer according to CCS Conduct Rules 1964, rule 18. Now along with intimation, I have to submit transaction statements for the payments made from my bank account. Now the other co-buyer also made payments from his own account. Is it also mandatory to submit transaction statement of his payments to my employer according to the rules? Will there be any consequences if I don't submit statement of partial payments made by him?
A.Dear Client,
According to CCS Conduct Rules 1964, Rule 18, it is mandatory for a central government employee to intimate the employer about being a co-buyer of a flat along with another family member. While the rules explicitly state the need to submit transaction statements for payments made from your bank account, they may not necessarily extend to payments made by the other co-buyer from their account. However, it is recommended to consult your department's administrative guidelines or seek clarification from your employer to ensure compliance with specific internal policies. Failing to submit transaction statements as required may lead to administrative consequences, so it's advisable to adhere to the rules and provide the necessary documentation to your employer to avoid any potential issues.
