My family comes under all the criteria required for EWS category, but when applying for the certificate, my caste was not there to select from the option, I belong to Gouda of 3A category. Why so and what to do?

A.Dear Client,
According to the Indian Constitution, 3A comes under the Other Backward Castes (OBC) category because there is no separate category of OBCs and backward class. Under 3A especially Vokkaligas gets reservation in employment and education sector. The Vokkaliga caste comes under OBC in the central list. Vokkaliga Gowda is the most forward caste in India.

A.Dear Client,
If your caste, Gouda (3A category), is not listed as an option when applying for an EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate, it could be a bureaucratic or technical oversight. To address this, initiate contact with the local authorities responsible for issuing caste and EWS certificates. Explain the situation and inquire about the reason for Gouda not being included in the options. Provide documentation supporting your claim, such as caste certificates or other relevant records. If necessary, visit the concerned office in person, and consider writing a formal letter outlining the issue along with attached supporting documents. Seek clarification and resolution from the authorities. If these efforts prove insufficient, consulting with a legal professional who specializes in such matters may be advisable. Promptly addressing this concern is crucial to ensure accurate documentation of your caste status in the EWS certificate application.
