A.Dear Client,

If the duration of travel to another state is less than 3 months, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is not required. However, if you plan to keep a vehicle in another state for more than 3 months, it is necessary to obtain an NOC. As per section 47 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, if a registered motor vehicle is kept in another state for a period exceeding one year, the owner is obligated to obtain a new registration mark from the registering authority within the jurisdiction where the vehicle is currently operating.

To facilitate this process, you need to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) where your vehicle was initially registered. Subsequently, you must apply for fresh registration at the RTO of the new state where the vehicle will be kept for an extended period. This ensures compliance with the legal requirements related to the registration of vehicles when they are relocated to a different state for an extended duration.
