A.Dear Client,
A private road is not reflected in the Map and survey record because such kind of private road is formed on mutual understanding and sharing the land by all the stakeholders for a common purpose. So the claim of ownership of a private road is impermissible under law.. You may approach the local authorities(Municipal Corporation, Panchayat, land revenue authorities, DM, Tehashildar) for a specific name for that private road which may be considered if there is no objection from the other landowners staying adjacent to said private road.

A.Dear Client,

To establish ownership of the private road in front of your house, you can pursue legal avenues to obtain relevant documentation. Firstly, gather any existing records or documents related to the road, such as land deeds, property surveys, or building plans, which may indicate ownership or rights over the road. Additionally, consider seeking a legal opinion from a property lawyer who can guide you through the process. They may advise initiating legal proceedings to assert your ownership rights over the road. This could involve filing a lawsuit in the appropriate court to obtain a court order or declaration confirming your ownership or right to maintain and reconstruct the road. In parallel, you can also engage with local authorities, such as the Panchayat, to demonstrate your intention to maintain and improve the road while clarifying any misunderstandings with your neighbors. Collaborating with legal experts and local authorities can help streamline the process and assert your rightful ownership of the road.
