Friendship issue

Iam shiva. My age is 22. Iam from Hyderabad. Currently iam studying btech in tamilnadu. I have a girlfriend in Hyderabad. I have a friend (girl) in Tamil Nadu in my college. I would not like to disclose their names. My girlfriend doesn't know about this friendship untill my third year. When i finally said about this friendship to her, she said to cut off the friendship. So i cut off the this friendship. Now the girl who was my friend (let address her as x) is trying to kill herself because I cutoff this friendship. Their family is wealthy and also have connections with politicians and police. They already tried to file a case on me(don't know the reason for case) but x didn't signed on it. Now if she dies their family will do everything in their power to take legal action on me. She is threatning that she will kill herself with a sucide note which contains my name. When i met her to ask about this, she said she won't keep my name, but she will write someone else name. And she is not telling me those names. Iam so afraid that it might be my girlfriend name. I want your advice on what to do to prevent her from killing herself. And in the worst case scenario if she does kill her self and their family is after me what should I do? Since this is a different state from where i come, iam afraid that iam powerless in this state and they have more advantage on me. Please give an advice as soon as possible.
