A.Dear Client,
It's important to document instances of physical and emotional abuse. She can take pictures of any injuries, keep records of incidents, and save any threatening messages or communications from her husband. If her husband's abuse has led to any physical injuries, she should seek medical attention and obtain medical reports as evidence of the injuries. If she feels she is in immediate danger, she should contact the local police and file a complaint against her husband for domestic violence. She can apply for a protection order, such as a Protection from Domestic Violence (DV) Act or a restraining order, which can prohibit her husband from contacting or approaching her. If she wishes to end the marriage, she can consult a lawyer about divorce proceedings. Indian law allows for divorce on various grounds, including cruelty and domestic violence. If she cannot afford a lawyer, she can inquire about legal aid services provided by the government or legal aid organizations.
