Can optometrists withhold eye prescription? Can optometrists withhold eye prescription?

I visited a spectacle shop in Mumbai and took an optometric test. Since I was not sure if I wanted to get spectacles made, I asked for the test result. But the staff refused saying I can only get the prescription if I get spectacles made at the shop. I know withholding optometric tests are illegal in some countries, but am not sure if there are regulations for this in India.

A.You voluntarily visited that shop and subjected yourself for a test. If you don`t have a reciept for the test you have undergone, even if you issue a legal notice they will decline the whole test. And unless you have paid for the said test, you dd not have a right under consumer law either. Why don`t you ignore this ?
