My cars paint was ruined due to a construction in a building besides mine My cars paint was ruined due to a construction in a building besides mine

so my car's paint (which is black) has white spots on it due to paint dripping on it occasionally due a building getting constructed besides mine. I reside in Mumbai and i am pretty sure I wasn't notified that the construction would affect my car in any way. Now in typical Mumbai fashion the contractors of that construction project are being dodgy about compensating me for re-painting my car which costs a minimum of 30,000 Rupees for a full body re-paint. I have some proof that my paint was damaged by them, obviously I have taken pics & videos of the damage but idk how big of a factor will not getting notified about the work going on will play (pretty sure my me or building watchmen were not notified). Now I know legal notice is an obvious choice but that surely costs a lot of money and is my last option, so lemme know what other options would i have?

A.Dear Client,
Here are some steps you can consider:

Contact the Building Authorities: Reach out to the local municipal or building authorities responsible for overseeing construction projects. They may have regulations in place to ensure that neighboring properties are not adversely affected by construction activities. They may also be able to mediate the dispute or put pressure on the construction company to compensate you.

Contact Your Insurance: Check your car insurance policy to see if it covers damage caused by external factors, such as construction-related damage. If it does, you can file a claim with your insurance company to cover the cost of repairs. Be sure to provide them with all the evidence you have, including photos and videos of the damage.

Negotiate with the Construction Company: Continue to communicate with the construction company, preferably in writing. Present your evidence of the damage and request compensation for the cost of repainting your car. Politely but firmly express your concerns and the impact this has had on you. They may be willing to settle the matter without legal action to avoid negative publicity or potential fines.

Mediation: If direct negotiations fail, you can explore mediation services. Mediation is a voluntary process where a neutral third party helps both parties reach a mutually acceptable resolution. This can be a cost-effective way to resolve disputes without going to court.

Legal Action as a Last Resort: If all else fails, you can consider legal action as a last resort. Consult with an attorney in Mumbai who specializes in property and construction law to understand your options. They can help you assess the strength of your case and guide you through the legal process.

Remember that evidence, such as photographs and videos of the damage, is crucial in building your case. The fact that you were not notified about the construction may be relevant, but the specific legal implications will depend on local laws and regulations.
Thank you.

A.Dear Sir,
It is nothing but nuisance and you can file criminal complaint then the builder may come for compromise if you threaten to place such complaint on social net work.
