Mothers name correction in my passport
Hi,
In my passport my mother's name is Celin George(passport taken before mother's marriage) and my mother name in id documents(adhaar, voters id) it is Celin Joshy. I'm married right now and I want to change my current address to my husband's address in passport. In order to do that I have submitted my Marriage certificate. The problem is in my marriage certificate my mother's name is Celin Joshy, but in my passport it is Celin George. Will it be a problem while applying for reissue of my passport
A.Dear client,
If you face any issue , while applying the said passport, you can ask the authorities about the documents that they exactly need in support of the same.
Generally, an affidavit from the first class magistrate, declaring the details serves the purpose.

A.Dear Client,
The inconsistency in your mother's name between your passport and marriage certificate may potentially lead to complications during the reissue of your passport. Passport authorities typically prefer consistency in the details provided across various documents. Remember, addressing the discrepancy beforehand and providing clear explanations and supporting documents will enhance the likelihood of a smooth reissue process. Always follow the guidelines provided by the passport authorities and seek professional advice if needed.

A.Dear Client,
Mismatch of the names of the biological parents in a passport and other documents may typically raise a question or query in the course of verification of documents for the issue or reissue of passports by the Authority. You need to visit Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) for further clarification and steps in this regard. However, to resolve the issue related to the change or correction of your mother's name that appears differently in different documents, generally following steps are required. 1) An affidavit is a legal document that is used to state facts under oath. The affidavit should include the applicant's current name/surname, the desired name/surname, the reason for the change of surname, and any other relevant details declaring that the "A s/o B " and the "A s/o C" are the same and one identical person. The affidavit should be made on a stamp paper of the appropriate value as per the state where the applicant resides and should be sworn preferably before the 1st class Judicial Magistrate or Executive Magistrate. 2) The next step in the name/surname change process is to publish a notification in the Gazette of India. The Gazette of India is a publication of the Government of India that contains official government notifications, including name/surname change notifications. The notification should be in the prescribed format and published in at least two local newspapers. 3) After publishing the notification in the Gazette of India, the next step is to make out a name/surname change deed. The said deed is a legal document that confirms the name/surname change and includes the details of the old and new name/surname. The deed should be made on a stamp paper of the appropriate value as per the state where the applicant resides and should be signed by two witnesses and notarized by a Notary Public. 5) The final step is to submit the name/surname change deed to the relevant authorities for information and records. The applicant may also need to provide additional documents, such as a copy of the Gazette notification and a copy of the affidavit for updating the records. It is essential to follow the correct procedure to ensure that the name/surname change is recognized by the Passport Issuing Authority and other relevant authorities.
